RESUME

Cet article se propose d’étudier La figure du Diable et son fonctionnement chez Assana Brahim à travers ses œuvres Silence, le Diable  
passe et Couples sous le couvert du Kongossa. L’objectif est montrer comment et à quelles fins l’écrivain camerounais peint le Diable dans  
ses productions à l’étude. En nous appuyant sur l’approche thématique de Jean-Pierre Richard, nous constatons qu’Assana Brahim fait du  
Diable la matrice centrale de ses œuvres. Il dénonce ainsi le comportement de ceux qui pactisent avec Belzebuth pour améliorer leur  
condition de vie. Par cette stratégie, il veut amener la société à se tourner vers Dieu face aux épreuves de la vie.

ABSTRACT  

The aim of this article is to study the figure of the Devil and how it works through the novels Silence, le Diable passe and Couples sous le  
couvert du Kongossa of Assana Brahim. The purpose is to demonstrate how and for what finality the cameroonian writer paints the Devil  
in his studies. By relying on thematic approach of Jean-Pierre Richard, we notice that Assana Brahim makes Devil the central matrix of his  
works. He thus denounces the behavior of those who come to terms with Belzebuth to improve their living conditions. By this strategy, he  
wants to bring society to turn to God facing the trials of life.
