RESUME

Introduction :

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The lack of effectiveness of students in a new problem, even if these students have the knowledge to solve the problem, is a sign of disappointment and obstruction for real learning. Context: High school students at the age of 15 to 16 stand out from their strategic behavior when it comes to learning, they generally use fewer strategies or use them inefficiently. Objectives: Through the idea that metacognition has a distinctive impact on student performance, this article aims to study the influence of metacognitive strategies manifested on problem-solving performances, from Moroccan students to students. age of 15 to 16 years, enrolled in common scientific baccalaureate international baccalaureate. Methods: We constructed tools to uncover the influence of metacognitive dimensions on the success of high school students and those administered to a sample of 33 students. Results: We measured, on the one hand, the levels of metacognition and cognitive regulation strategies declared by students and, on the other hand, their performance in problem solving situations. Conclusions: Following an explicit agreement between the respected performance criteria and the metacognition components, we managed to show how metaconnections and regulatory strategies could intervene in the resolution of two problems and that their absence could lead to resolution obstacles.
Keywords: Metacognition, metaknowledge, self-regulation, problem solving, performance.
